The best Moroccan Cities

Marrakech:

Who is unfamiliar with Marrakech? For those who want to experience the splendor of Moroccan history and Moroccan tours, Marrakech has emerged as a must-visit location in recent years. Enjoy a true tale of a thousand and one nights while visiting the ancient town, which is famous for its plethora of marketplaces. A maze of alleyways and souks reveal new treasures, including jewelry, colorful textiles, shimmering lamps, and aromatic spices. Since the shifting desert sands extend from the city to the snow-capped Atlas Mountains, the surrounding scenery is just as stunning.

Fès:

The charm and uniqueness of a well-defended city are still present in Fez, Morocco’s second largest city. There are two historic medinas there. One of them, Fez el Bali, is the oldest university in the world and has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for its elaborate architecture of narrow streets, souks, and courtyards. The city is an open-air museum, home to numerous exceptional examples of Islamic architecture, from monumental mosques to historic madrasas, all exquisitely adorned with arabesques and tile motifs. The harmony between authenticity and modernity will enchant you.

Meknes:

UNESCO has designated numerous Moroccan locations as World Heritage Sites, including the old city of Meknes. It is among the most appealing on the list because of its distinctive fusion of architectural styles, magnificent monuments, and well-preserved legacy. Nine gates, each elaborately decorated with tile and arabesque themes, lead to the city, which is encircled by defensive walls. From the royal palace Dar El Makhzen to the numerous mosques, hammams, and gardens that adorn the streets, the city itself is a beautiful place that searches for Islamic and European architectural styles in Hispano-Moorish traditions.

Agadir:

Are you not persuaded that Agadir is the best beach resort in Morocco? A 10-kilometer stretch of excellent, sandy beach that receives 300 days of sunshine a year. The “Club of the World’s Most Beautiful Bays” includes the resort as a member. Communities with an outstanding waterfront view of a bay or gulf are brought together by this extremely selective international alliance. As you can see, Agadir is a luxurious location that offers souks and sunsets that make the journey worthwhile.

Ouarzazate:

Have you watched Gladiator (2000), The Mummy (1999), or Lawrence of Arabia (1962)? Then you may recognize Ouarzazate! Numerous Hollywood productions have included the city. It is easy to understand why: the town and its environs are breathtakingly beautiful, spanning a breathtaking natural plateau and bounded by the desert and the Atlas Mountains. Notable for its several examples of exquisite Berber kasbahs, such as Atlas Studios’ Ait Benhaddou, where Morocco is turned into a miniature Egypt with the props and settings for many of the most well-known movies in the area.

Merzouga:

Merzouga, located in southeast Morocco’s Sahara Moroccan desert, is incredibly stunning despite its remote location. On the horizon, only locals or camel lines can be seen indenting the long lengths of fine sand and towering sand dunes that reach in all ways. The town itself is quaint and simple to walk around. The buildings made of red sandstone mix in wonderfully with the heat of the desert. At sunrise and dusk, Merzouga is especially spectacular as the blazing sun turns the town and sand dunes into a rainbow of pink, orange, bronze, and gold. There is a mystique about its retained genuineness that will transport you to a state of amazing zenitude.
