3-day desert tour from Fes to Marrakech

Day 1: Fez – Midelt – Errachidia – Merzouga

We will depart at 7 a.m. from Fez (Morocco’s spiritual city) and head for the dunes of Erg Chebbi. We will stop in the city of Ifrane (the Moroccan Switzerland), then at the cedar forest near Azrou with its Middle Atlas monkeys. After the Zad Pass (2178 m), we will arrive in Midelt for lunch. We will enter the Oued Ziz region with its stunning views of the gorges and valley… You will visit the marble quarries and fossils of Erfoud, before finally arriving at the foot of the Merzouga dunes for a night under the stars in a Berber tent in the silence of the desert.

Day 2: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dadès Gorges

After breakfast and a shower, we will head towards Boumalne Dadès via a photo stop at Jorf (to see the ancient irrigation systems), then through the small oases of Touroug and Tinejdad, before arriving at the famous Todra Gorges for lunch. After a short walk in this geological site of rocks, we will take the road again to the splendid valley and gorges of Dadès. Dinner and overnight stay in a Kasbah hotel.

Day 3: Dadès Gorges – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

In the morning after breakfast, we will head to Marrakech (the pearl of the south) via Ouarzazate (our Hollywood) on the road of a thousand kasbahs. You will see the beautiful Valley of Roses in Kalaàt M’Gouna (the capital of roses), the Kasbah of Taourirte (old Ouarzazate), the film center, and finally the famous Kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou, followed by lunch. In the afternoon, we will cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tichka Pass (2,260 m) and enjoy wonderful panoramic views before reaching Marrakech and the end of our 3-day desert tour from Fes to Marrakech.
