Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca
Will pick you up at Mohamed V International Airport, marking the beginning of this 10 Days Morocco itinerary from casablanca, and take you straight to your hotel. If time permits, we will take you to visit the famous Hassan II Mosque, the largest in Morocco and the third largest in Africa. Admission costs around €13. After visiting the mosque, we will take you to your hotel for the night.
Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat – Chefchaouen
Today, on the second day of your 10-day Morocco itinerary, an experienced driver from Tourism in Morocco will pick you up at your hotel. We leave the economic centre of Casablanca and head to the charming blue city of Chefchaouen. Our first stop is the royal city of Rabat, where we will visit the iconic Hassan Tower, the Hassan II Museum, and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. We will also explore the picturesque Kasbah of the Oudayas, which offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. After lunch, we will continue our journey through the scenic Rif Mountains to reach Chefchaouen. Upon arrival, we will drop you off at a charming riad. In the evening, take a leisurely stroll through the beautiful blue-painted alleys of the medina.
Day 3: Chefchaouen – Meknes – Fez
Ready to continue your Moroccan adventure? New explorations, deep history, and immersion in local traditions await you today. After breakfast, we will depart for Fez, passing through the Roman ruins of Volubilis and Meknes. After leaving Chefchaouen, we will make our first stop in Volubilis. This UNESCO World Heritage Site features well-preserved mosaics, basilicas and triumphal arches, offering a glimpse into Morocco’s Roman past. Hire a local guide to better understand the history of this ancient landmark.
Next, we will continue to Meknes, another UNESCO-listed city known for its imperial past. Here, take the opportunity to visit the impressive Bab Mansour, the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, and the bustling Place el-Hedim. After a break for lunch, we will continue to Fez, the scientific capital of Morocco, where we will spend two wonderful nights.
Day 4: Guided tour of Fez
Today, we will pick you up at your riad and introduce you to an experienced local guide who will safely lead you through the hidden gems of Fez. Start by admiring the magnificent golden gates of the Royal Palace, then visit the renowned pottery factory to learn about traditional craftsmanship. Next, head to Borj Sud for a breathtaking panoramic view of the ancient Medina.
Then, dive into the heart of the Medina, where you will explore its labyrinthine streets and historical landmarks. Visit the University and Al-Qarawiyyin Mosque, the oldest educational institution in the world in continuous operation. Discover the Medersa Bou Inania, an architectural masterpiece with impressive woodwork and tiles. Stroll through Nejjarine Square and admire the beautiful Nejjarine Fountain.
Stop at the Chouara Tannery to witness the traditional leather dyeing process, then explore the Attarine Madrasa, a historic Islamic school known for its intricate zellige tiles. Finally, wander through the bustling souks, where artisans sell handmade goods ranging from leather goods to metal lanterns, before returning to your riad for the night.
Day 5: Fez – Ifrane – Ziz Valley – Sahara Desert
On the fifth day of your 10 days in Morocco, we depart early from Fez and head to the captivating Merzouga desert. Today, our first stop is to discover the little Switzerland of Morocco. Ifrane is nestled in the Middle Atlas Mountains. You can take a short tour of the town before we continue on to the cedar forest.
Here, wild Barbary macaques have colonised the forest as their home after migrating from Gibraltar. You can feed the monkeys, but we recommend that you exercise caution when doing so due to their potential for danger. We will stop for lunch in Midelt, the apple capital. Later, we will stop to enjoy the panoramic view of the Ziz Valley, which emerges as the second largest oasis in Morocco after the Daraa Valley. Finally, in the afternoon, we will arrive in Merzouga. At the edge of the sand, we will mount our camels and begin to cross the golden dunes.
On one of the large dunes, you will have the opportunity to pause and enjoy the magical view of the sunset, and then continue on to the desert camp. Upon arrival at the camp, you will be welcomed with a cup of mint tea and a delicious dinner. Later, enjoy the desert vibes with Berber music around the campfire.
Day 6: Merzouga – Visit to nomads – Oasis – Merzouga
Today is an exciting day of exploration, starting at your desert camp, as we discover the cultural and natural treasures of the Merzouga region. Our first stop will take us to visit nomadic families, where you will experience their warm hospitality and gain insight into their traditional way of life. Next, we will head to the historic mines of Mifiss, a fascinating site that reflects the region’s mining heritage.
Continuing on, we will visit the vibrant Gnawa village in Khamlia, where you can watch a live performance of their unique Afro-Moroccan music. Afterwards, we will stop for lunch at a traditional restaurant, savouring the delicious local cuisine. The day ends with a visit to a serene desert oasis, a lush and peaceful retreat surrounded by vast dunes. This day promises an unforgettable journey through the heart of the Merzouga desert.
Day 7: Merzouga – Rissani Market – Todgha Gorges – Dades Valley
Say goodbye to the tranquillity and beauty of the desert and set off for Boumalne Dades. After packing your luggage and having breakfast, we will set off to visit the Rissani market, a vibrant place to experience the local culture. The market is open three times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. We will then continue to the Todgha Gorge and Valley.
When we arrive at the gorge, feel free to walk along the imposing rocks of the gorge, which reach 300 metres, and enjoy the dramatic landscape. This place is perfect for taking photos and going for a short walk. After lunch in Tinghir, we will continue to the Dades Gorges. The winding road through the gorges offers spectacular views of the valley and unique rock formations.
Finally, we stop to see the Monkey’s Finger rocks, which got their name from their peculiar shape, reminiscent of a monkey’s fingers. This natural wonder is ideal for a leisurely stroll and photo opportunities. Finally, we drop you off at your accommodation for the night.
Day 8: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
Today, on the eighth day of your 10-day Morocco itinerary, we will leave Boumalne Dades and head to Marrakech. Along the way, we will visit the picturesque Valley of Roses and stop at a women’s cooperative in Kalaat M’Gouna, where local women make various products from roses. Later, we will continue to Ouarzazate and explore the historic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
We will then cross the High Atlas Mountains, pausing at the stunning Tizi N’Tichka pass, at an altitude of 2,260 metres above sea level. After a break for lunch, we will resume our journey to Marrakech, where we will drop you off at your riad.
Day 9: Marrakech with a local guide
After breakfast, today will be dedicated to exploring the vibrant city of Marrakech with a knowledgeable local guide. The guide will meet you at your riad and take you on a fascinating journey through the city’s rich history and cultural heritage. Visit the iconic Koutoubia Mosque, the stunning Bahia Palace, and the historic Saadian Tombs. Stroll through the bustling souks of the old Medina, where artisans display their crafts, and experience the lively atmosphere of Jamaa El Fna Square.
Discover the architectural beauty of the Ben Youssef Medersa and explore the Majorelle Garden, an oasis of tranquillity. After the guided city tour, we will transfer you back to your riad.
Day 10: Transfer to Marrakech Airport
Today marks the end of your 10 Days Morocco itinerary from casablanca. Depending on your departure time, you may take one last stroll through the ancient streets of the Medina. When it is time for your flight, we will take you to Menara International Airport in Marrakech.
